Koraï is a family business in Antananarivo, Madagascar that’s shifted from exporting endangered coral to regrowing it.
Green entrepreneurship isn’t easy, says the young CEO Jeimila Donty in a Mongabay News article, and the company’s efforts to earn sustainable profits via corporate responsibility partnerships are just beginning. But Donty sounds hungry for the challenge.
“I wanted to incorporate the environment into my business model and shake up today’s idea of capitalism,” she says.
Noise #130 channels my admiration for Donty’s goals and guts—as well as the belief that even small ripples from distant islands can grow into global waves.
With thanks and excitement for the next 130 Noises,
Michael
