Did you know that, in 1912 and for decades after, the Olympics awarded medals in an artistic “Pentathlon of the Muses”—music, literature, architecture, painting, and sculpture?
Neither did I.
(At least, not until I read today’s New York Times.)
I love that the modern Olympics was founded to honor artistic as well as athletic prowess. Celebrating that duality is what Noise #150 is all about.
