Noise #187: TikTok BOOM

Music reacting to the U.S. effectively banning the hugely popular social network.

Earlier today, the United States Supreme Court upheld a law that effectively bans TikTok in the U.S.

Many folks concerned with national security seem thrilled.

Many others concerned with content creation and digital connection are the opposite.

I’m intrigued to see what ripples and tsunamis the Court’s ruling will cause. Pew Research Center estimates that roughly half of Americans use TikTok; banning anything that ubiquitous will have both subtle and profound ramifications in ways we can’t predict.

I recorded Noise #187 thinking about the immediate impact of the SCOTUS ruling—and ruminating on what that impact will look like days and months and years into the future.
