Were they the good guys?

This morning, I listened to a New York Times Audio story about wealthy Americans who devoted themselves to saving elephants in Zambia. I knew basically nothing of the subject, beyond the hazy baseline assumption that conservation is generally good—and poaching generally isn’t.
